praise.praise.praise.

Needed a job: Got an amazing opportunity to work with kids at a great elementary school with a fabulous teacher.
Desperate for our own home... 2.5 months later: get great news from the bank, day 2 look at the perfect house, day 3 make offer, day 4 accept amazingly generous counter-offer and become home owners!
Need more $$: got a miracle tax refund.
We have so many reasons to praise God. He is truly ever faithful and the provider. We have been fervently praying and He has showered these blessings on us, so grateful! I don't think either of us have slept well the past two nights because we are both going crazy thinking up decorating ideas and our upcoming projects. We close April 22nd as long as everything goes smoothly with inspections and the bank, cannot wait!

our house!

giving Him the glory,

Katie

Saying Goodbye.

A month ago we moved back to Quincy but I definitely left a piece of my heart in Marion with some precious children that I had grown to love. A few weeks before leaving I started getting really emotional as I was processing the people and ministries I was walking away from. ReaLife was a huge part of my college life, it was such a blessing to be apart of and has changed my worldview and dreams in so many ways. Kory and I had planned on living in Marion for several years after graduating to continue to build on the relationships we had formed. God took us in an unexpected direction however in bringing us to The Crossing. The stories and faces of the kids from ReaLife and the Boys and Girls Club will always be apart of my life and drive me to continue showing Christ's love to families in similar situations.

Saying goodbye to a very special family:

My last night of ReaLife

Saying goodbye to Miss Ann was the most difficult
goodbye's aren't forever,

it's good to be back.

My poor blog has been lonely for a month, so I felt the need to give a much needed update!
The biggest and best news is that I start a new job on Thursday at Dewey Elementary school as a teacher's aide! Now of course this is not within my field but until then, I am so excited to get to work with kids again and have a stable job. Education has become a passion of mine so having the opportunity to work in a classroom and under an amazing principle is definitely an unexpected blessing. I still do not know where this journey is going to take me but I will enjoy the ride!
Kory and I are enjoying being home in Quincy and throwing ourselves into children's ministry. It is so nice to not have to worry about driving or school work. [There is apart of me that misses life at IWU though :)] The past month has been spent job searching, spending time with family and friends, and house-hunting.
We are looking for a home with some character and a pretty price in a great location! Wish us luck :)
First Christmas, with our pup for the week: Indy :)

you've been updated,

the race.

I am in a race. A race until the end of the semester. The finish line: December 15.
I am ready to cross that line. However, I know this is only the first of many finish lines. As the title of my blog tells, life is a journey. This journey I am on has lots of mini marathons that I have been purposed to finish. One being undergrad. I do not know what marathon God has next for me. This race has been full of lessons, ups, and downs, new friendships, death, new life, ministry, and love. Perhaps tomorrow I will know more about the next race God has registered me for. Until then I will keep running the race...

out of shape,

Katie

7 week bucket list?

I have 6 and a half weeks left before I graduate from IWU, so I decided I should make a bucket list.
Keeping in mind I have 6 weeks to complete this, they are not grand, but rather more symbolic and sentimental ideas.

- go inside President Smith's house
- go swing dancing in Indy
- take a trip to chi-town
- go to an IWU basketball game
- have ReaLife kid dates with the Moores
- celebrate Christmas with the girls
- spend an evening with Miss Anne & her family
- hang out at U of I for a weekend

I am already thinking about my goals for when we move back to Quincy but I'll save those for later...

Katie
